Interactive fiction you play for weeks. Local-first, free

What it does. Orihai is a Windows desktop app for long interactive fiction: stories you play over weeks rather than minutes. You pick a scenario, cast the people in it, and read a continuous narrated story you steer turn by turn.
How it works. Every turn is compiled into a budgeted context that tracks who is who, where they are, and what was promised, so the narrator stays true to a story that is now hundreds of turns long, instead of drifting into a different one. Names in the prose light up: hover to see who that is and where they last appeared.
Where it runs. Entirely on your machine. Your stories are one database file; your API key lives in the Windows credential store; there is no server in the middle. Bring a key for Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or bring none at all and run fully local through Ollama, LM Studio or llama.cpp. Seven hand-tuned themes, two of them for daylight reading.
Price. The app is free, and always will be, with your own key or a local model. There is also a managed service, Orihai AI, for people who would rather not handle keys: its plan is free while it is in testing, and paid plans may come later. Bring-your-own-key and local use stay free either way.
Feedback wanted. Does the prose hold up over weeks of play? Which theme do you read in? What breaks first, and on which model?
